Is it true that the SB-28 is going to be discontinued or is already being discontinued? My wife went to the camera store today to get me one as a gift and they told her that they were being discontinued, but that they had the SB-28DX instead. I think they were just trying to sell the DX flash that they had. Can somebody please shed some light on this for me (no pun intended).

There is that rumor spreading, but he have been unable to confirm it yet. In the meantime, the SB-28 is getting out-of-stock all over the place.
Have a great time :-)

I have the B&H page up as I am typing this, they don't even have a LISTING for a USA SB-28 non DX. Have the imported, though, instock for $259.95. May have to get me one before I have to buy a DX I don't need.

I spoke to the guy at the camera shop and he said that they will be coming out with a replacement for the sb-28 at the PMA Show(Photographic marketing association) in Orlando in about 2 weeks. He told me to wait until that one comes out, so I don't think they were trying to push the DX. If you do buy a DX, it comes with a $60.00 rebate, so it's really almost the same price as the regular one. Also, I guess if you wanted to sell it down the line it would be worth a little bit more.
