I asked earlier about using a Vivitar 283 flash as a remote with my D7100. So, if I get an optical trigger it will work if I turn off the pre-flash feature on my Nikon flash units and it will not work as a TTL unit. but this raises a second question. If the camera (and its built in flash) and the Nikon SB-700 flash are working as TTL units then wouldn't the camera sense the total amount of light available and adjust exposure accordingly, meaning wouldn't the camera register the light from the Vivitar 283 as part of the ambient light? any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
