Hi. I own a D60, Nikkor 55-200, Nikkor 18-55, Nikkor 300 F4, all AF-S, and an SB800 and a Better Beamer. I like just about all subjects, but my favorite is birds.

I'm a total newbie at flash photography, even though I've been shooting for over 30 years in natural light.

I would consider taking a class, like an Adorama on-line class, but believe reading a book or two first would be best. I've seen some good reviews for Bryan Peterson's "Understanding Flash Photography." Unless your responses say otherwise, I will pick that one up for general use. Does it have enough specific info to give me practical advice on the equipment I have, or should I pick up an additional handbook, and if so, which ones have you liked?

Note: My brain finds books like the Nikon manuals a little dry and technical, so please recommend layman-friendly books.

Many thanks.
