I have been offered to buy a 8 year old second hand sb-24 flash for +/- 150 us dollars. I want to use this with my nikon f60. Does anybody know if this will work, is this a good combination? And furthermore is this price right? Unfortunately I don't have to much experience with second hand flashes (or flashes in general).
many thanks for any help on this subject

Excellent price. About 80~90 dollars under ongoing prices for used SB-24 in excellent condition. Good combo with N60/F60.

YES! I did same thing, and now use it with my N80. Also damn fine manual flash. Just don't expect it to add any features to the N60 that it doesn't already have, if that's what you are thinking.---scott

SB-24, the granddaddy of them all. It can take a licking too. Bought mine new in 1989 and over the years, I've managed to drop it 3 times from chest level onto the hard pavement, once spitting out all 4 of its batteries in NY Times Square. It's bruised and scratched but still working.
Aside from its fine TTL metering, its auto-mode (A setting) provides bang on exposures with my FM2n if you learn to compensate beyond middle-gray, just like the old Vivitar auto-thyristors units.
