Hi folks, brand new kid on the block here, looking for some help.

I just rec'd a sb-25 speedlight which I purchased on eBay and it appears to be functioning well and is cosmetically like new with the original box, case and instruction manual. There is however one BIG problem. When I try to remove it from the shoe mount, it won't budge.

After wiggling and coaxing it I finally got it to release. After some inspection it seems that the small front metal post which inserts into the shoe to keep it from accidentally falling off of the camera gets stuck and won't release. It took me almost 45 minutes before it would come off. I have played with the wheel which should cause the peg to release and it seems that it (the little peg) just gets stuck, plain and simple. Maybe the spring mechinism is old or has been overly tightened... who knows.

My question is this...

Would it be better to try to return it to the seller or ship to Nikon for repair. I'm using it on an N80 and believe that this speedlight has a good reputation for performance.
