I got one in mail also with first batch of numbers. It looks like battery made in China are defective ( at least that's what I had). The replacement are made in Japan. -B
This is my first post on Nikonians.. so please be gentle with pretty much a beginner. I picked up my D50 kit today but not allowed it by SWMBO until Christmas Day. But checked on the battery being shipped (thanks to all I have read on Nikonians I knew to ask the question) and found that it was supplied with an EN-EL3a. This was from Jessops in the UK. So good news.. no messing about with exchanges.
Thanks for the reply bhola. I have tried searching for the e-mail add of their support... But it keeps on showing me country links from where I bought the camera (probably) so I am more confuse than ever.
It seems like Im the only member here from this part of the world.
Where did you register your camera? The battery recall in Europe requires you to update your register of products with the battery batch number; they then email you confirming an envelope is on it's way to your registered address.
