The Nikon School has published two DVD offerings aimed at educating newly-minted Digital SLR owners in maximizing the use of their cameras. Preview trailers can be viewed online.
Both DVDs feature award-winning travel photgrapher Bob Krist, as he leads viewers in simple and easy-to-understand steps on how to get the most out of their equipment and make better photos. The first DVD, "Fast, Fun & Easy: Great Digital Pictures," is aimed at new Nikon D40 and D40X owners and will get them up and running with their cameras in 35 minutes. The second DVD, "Understanding Digital Photography," is aimed at providing guidance for any digital SLR owner interested in moving beyond automatic settings. Nikon D40, D40X, D80 and D200 owners will particulary benefit, since those models are used throughout the film.

When I picked up my D40X 2 lens kit last week the kit came with the 2 DVDs they are great. I have been using a camera for 30 plus years, and found both DVDs to be informative, and I learned something.....
I don't really understand why Nikon came out with a press release on these DVD's in July, like they were new releases, which they are not. I got my D40 on Mother's Day weekend at Ritz, and my kit came with both discs, which are indeed, excellent.
Hello,I recently recieved my new D-40 and it did not come with these two DVD'S. Being that this is my first DSLR I'd love copies of these where can I obtain them? Thanks gang.BTW I absolutly love my new D-40. I purchase it from Cametta Camera through E-Bay and as always their service and products are great..Thanks in advance..David
Got mine the other day. It's very basic. Most of it is stuff we all know already. However, one thing I didn't know about were the automated settings. I thought they were just tweaks to aperture, WB, and ISO. They are tweaks to color also - at least the DVD made it sound that way.
Hi Guys, Im new to nikonians, i find lots of information in these forum, i recently purchased a DSLR NIKON D40X in Eurpoe. How do i claim these DVDs, anywhere do we need to register with our camera details, please help me to get these information.
