Hi All,
I'm trying to find and old MF macro lens for my (hopefully in the mail tomorrow!) new D70. I looked at the lens chart and am a little confused. The chart seems to indicate that AI-P lenses are fully compatible with DX cameras, using MF (i.e. the metering works). My question is, I have seen several lenses on eBay that say Micro-NIKKOR-P.C Auto on the face of the lens. There are others that say Micro-NIKKOR-P Auto. (I'm browsing 55mm f/3.5's) So, are the ones that say P.C actually AI-P lenses that would work as well? Or just the P ones?

Also, I'm a little confused about how long of a macro lens I should be looking for. I fully understand the DX multiplication deal, but I don't have a frame of reference for how close a 82.5mm macro lens could get. The main thing I'm interested in immediately is being able to get a really nice shot of my fiance's engagement ring. Think this lens would do the trick?

Thanks for the help!
