Hopefully someone can help with this... I've noticed that with my long exposure shots, dark stripes are visible down the image. I've exaggerated it to make it easy to spot, and put an example at:
"http://www.james-burns.com/Phototakers/stripes.jpg" (without the quotation marks... 150K image)
I'm hoping someone can tell me what it is, and more importantly, how to stop it!

It's probably fixed pattern noise (fpn) from the CCD
Similar behavior is discussed in the following thread:
Bottom line: if it's fpn, then the in-camera noise
reduction routine should help, or you could do the
dark frame subtraction manually.
