1.5 Crop factor and aperature

I've seen the many discussions on the 1.5 Crop factor (not magnification) that the D100 has on 35mm lenses. I understand that you are not gaining the extra focal length, but getting the angle of view of 1.5X of that lense. I would assume that somehow this cropping factor has some effect on aperature. Can anyone explain if this is true or not.
