D100.. what about the fuji S2 pro?
Well, there's not a real place to put this message, I consider the fuji just being a nikon, so here goes..
It's been very quiet around this model since the press release, in contrast to nikons' D100 info, there have not been very many updates.
Considering the S1 Pro was slightly better in image quality as the D1, I wonder how the comparisong between D100 and S2 will be. The bodies are essentially the same (although nikon says it is *not* an F80 body, but derived)..
Does anyone have any info on the fuji? I thought since there are 'illegal' shots of the D100, there should be some beta images around of the S2
I'm looking forward to see a comparison between the two.. the fuji is higher priced for now, I wonder if it wants to compete with the D1 range.... would be strange though..

Beyond the information posted on sites such as DPReview back in late January I've not heard anything much about the S2 Pro despite the fact it's supposedly scheduled for release in July.
Currently it looks like Fuji are in for a hard time. They originally quoted a price of around £3000: we now know the D100 (and Canon D60) will go for £2000 ($2000 in the States). They can't really target the D1 series since the camera will have a 2fps continuous frame rate and the F80 body lacks the more advanced facilities and is not as robust in comparison.
I'd guess they'll have to drop the price if they want to compete, or redesign the camera completely - perhaps basing a revised version on the F100 so they could target the professional market.
