The weekly British photo magazine "AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHER" has a detailed review of the D100 in this week's issue. The two major flaws, according to the author, concern the auto-focus system and the lack of sharpness.

I have a hard time buying the AF as a flaw, especially when the camera has identical AF capability to the S2 and superior to the D60. I'd chalk it up to pilot error, poor choice of AF settings, or using a lens that takes a lot of camera torque to drive.
The sharpness issue is discussed clearly (pardon the pun) by Phil Askey in his dpreview write-up of the camera. I would often use the camera in RAW mode, but Nikon didn't offer the best choices in sharpening settings for JPEG files. If I were Nikon, I'd add an intermediate sharpening setting and put this issue to rest...
