I am a new member here and just got my D100 a week ago. I am an advertisiing photographer and shoot mostly Hasselblad and 4x5 on reversal film for reproduction. I rarely use 35mm anymore. However this new D100 is going to change that. Its a wonderful camera, producing very sharp and useable images. I just sent my first files to an agency for a brochure we are working on. Since the reproduction size will only be about 2x3 inches we gave the DIgital images a try. We were all surprised how well they sorked at this size. The images were shot using both tungsten and strobe lighting and included people and product. The off color results were planned.

I am an old manual settings guy and found the camera works well in manual with the exception of the focusing screen. I have used the camera for some quick test in the program modes and autofocus and itr works quite well...at least the equal in ease of use and accuracy as my f4.

I generally meter with a Minolta meter and the camera is accurate with my meter. I have not really tested the internal meter.

I do loads of feature photos that get reproduced 2x3 or less, and usually provide film in 2.25 sq. format. If I can get all my clients to by into it they may well all be digital in the future.

I think the best thing this camera has done for me is awaken my desire to make images for fun again. It travels with me everyday now and I am getting great images for fun and not just for money. Thanks Nikon!
