D1x or D100 files vs. scans from LS2000 &/or 4000

hi all,
how do the files compare?
I find a lot of scanning to 28mb with the Nikon LS-2000 on Astia and Velvia look a little sandpapery.
How do these stack up against files from the D100-D1x etc.
i.e. a clean 18mb file?
