I recently did some shooting with my D100. It was set to JPEG (fine), Large files. The counter started at 75. So, I went about my day shooting... Some shots at Bushkill Falls and fireworks that night. Afterwards the counter said I had 31 shots left. I thought I had taken more than just 44 shots. So I downloaded. Low and behold, Nikon View 5.1.1 said I had taken 86 shots. I thought this only happened while using NEF compressed.

I take it the camera bases its count down on memory remaining, or am I wrong?
