O.k. I love my D100, but I really miss my 20mm f/2.8 lens. Yes I still have the lens and I still use it, but it has taken me some time to adjust to the 1.5 conversion. 20mm was the widest lens I owned, now I would like to buy a wider lens to get back or close to the 20mm. Has anybody used the sigma 15-30mm lens, nikkor 17-35mm lens or the nikkor 14mm If so what were the results? Thanks
I have and love the Nikkor 17-35. It is a great, super sharp lens but I miss having it as a 17 when I used it with my F100. The Nikkor 14 is at the top of my wish list. I have heard nothing but good about it. Beware of severe flare problems with the cheaper third party lenses.
I've not used one, but I've read very favorable reviews of the Tokina ATX-Pro 17mm, and I believe is quite a bit less expensive than the 14mm Nikkor (but obviously not quite as wide). It can be found at
Thanks, Opened NEF RAW files with Bibble, saved to PS Elements2 as tiff and used unsharp mask set @ 160%, .5, and 0. Also had to clone out some CCD dust bunnneys from the sky areas. That's about it. Love this camera!, but out here in the desert, frequent lens changes dirty things up a bit inside the camera, something I didn't have to contend with when using my Oly E-10. Mike
I too have noted the overexposure with the Sigma, but not the yellow shift. Could this be corrected in post processing a raw image, without using a filter? Also, please excuse my ignorance, but would you please explain 'cc' in regards to color. I'm still learning this game, and loving it!
