Can anyone with a D100 and MB-D100 grip/battery pack tell me how to get the wav sound files to transfer to my computer along with the image files? I can't find any way of doing it, and I can't find any mention in the manual of any special procedure. There must be a way, surely?
If you are using Nikon View to automatically transfer the files I can't help you, because I don't use that.
I can tell you, from personal experience, that the files are on your CF card as a .wav file with a sequential number equal to that of the image file last taken before the sound was recorded, and can be transferred just like an image file. Drag and drop it into your computer.
Thanks Victor. I am using Nikon View, and the sound files only seem to appear as a small icon attached to the relevant image. I thought that selecting the image for transfer would select the sound file as well, but it doesn't seem to. Perhaps I'm missing something. I'll have another look at it - I'm only on Day 1 of my D100 ownership, so I expect it is probably my fault rather than the camera.
Well I've just had another go, and I'm happy to report that I find I can transfer the audio files, either by using Windows Explorer directly, or using Nikon View, but transferring manually rather than by launching the little image transfer wizard (which I would prefer anyway). Perhaps there is a bug in it, but anyway I have the solution I needed.
