Here I am again with yet another stupid question....
I am currently using the Sony 707 but am looking for something better. I am a idiot photographer who sets everything to auto mode. Most of my pictures are taken indoors of items I sell on my site or on Ebay.
Is this camera easy for an idiot like myself to operate on all auto settings?
The D100 can be used like a point and shoot with auto everything but (and it's a big but) you won't be getting the best from it, and you may not like the results. If you look through this forum you'll see quite a few threads on dull looking images, custom curves, white balance and RAW conversion: all of these are down to the fact that you need to work with the camera to get the best out of it.
Frankly I can't see much point in your replacing the Sony 707 with another compact digital; that camera is just about the best in its class. However if you want the increased versatility of an SLR then you might like to look at the Fuji S2 since it produces more pleasing images straight out of the camera.
