I think it is only for the UK market. Check nikon.co.uk. There is a link to Christmas promotions. All this does is bring the price of the package in line with other countries as the D100 costs more here than the US.
Use the recomended suppliers on the Nikon UK web page and you'll find some even better deals. The cheapest for the same package seems to be £1629, but I got mine for £1649 including a 2 year warranty and delivery from Kamera in Altrincham (Equipmentexpress.co.uk I think). Now I'm waiting for the Microdrive to arrive from Nikon. But I'm a little wary of their note that the chosen free gift will be "subject to availability".
Jason, you are right, I checked and there are better deals.
Subject to availability is the standard get out clause and it is a worry because no doubt, Nikon would say well we've run out of these so pick another promo item. Thing is, a one day instruction on using a digital does not have the same intrinsic value as the Microdrive.
Anyway, memory is cheaper now than it's ever been. Imagine if memory prices went up 500%!! Ouch, that would hurt digital camera sales. Mike
> Bearing in mind that an AS15 hot shoe adapter is under £20 then you could buy the SB80 flash, get everything the S2pro has and still have change.
I am not sure I understand what you are referring to. Even without the AS15 you can use the SB80 (nonDX) on the D100, you just do not get all metering options compared to the DX version. The AS15 will not change anything about that.
Have a nice day

Sorry for the confusion. What I meant was that the D100 does not have a pc synch socket, unlike the Fuji, but the AS15 takes care of that.
The flash issue it unrelated to that. I can use my SB28 on the S2pro but not on the D100 (with all features) so for teh savings being offered you can now get the flash and still compare favourably on the overall package. Of course, if you don't own a dedicated flash gun then it's a moot point anyway. Cheers Mike
I have just ordered a D100 from Warehouseexpress.com before I stumbled on this site. I bought it on the strength of the reviews, availability, extras(MD100) and of course the all important Nikon UK Offer. Finally the guys there are very accomodating and pleasant!! Can't wait for the courier company to turn up!
