Battery life: i had used my standard battery previous about a week before on a full charge for maybe 100 shots. I shot 200 shots some with flash and the battery is still reading full. I packed a spare battery and did not even have to reach for it. I dont think i will ever buy the battery pack, unless i am shooting over 600 shots in a day.
curves: no curve, standard settings on my d100. i bought my d100 in japan and i think i have a better out of the box performance for some reason. the reds were a little short so i boosted them in photoshop.
cold: no percived problems other than trying to keep it dry in the snow.
lens: 28-80 G and tamron 19-35 lens.
any other info?
like i said mine is a japanese purchased model and i have had no problems with it at all. i am of the "d100 is a labor of love thinking" about post processing. I also have an Epson Stylus 2200 (colorio 4000 px here in japan, and it comes with the cd/r tray too) and print georgeous prints.
Thanks for the info. Will be usefull if someday have to go to somewhere cold. Brrrrr...
I remember my friend that saying, my D1x was bought in US, so the quality must be better than the one sold here in Indonesia (If anybody doesn't know where is Indonesia; think Bali --Bali is just one of the Islands of Indonesia) because the quality control in US is the best, according to him.
Now I hear a new one, It is made in Japan and bought in Japan. Made sense if it's good since the camera never leave the island. (i)
So, Nikonians, what do you think? Is there any thing like that? If so, I'll do my best to buy Nikon in Japan, or US. Please advise.
PS. I bought my D100 here in Jakarta, firmware 1.10 but ask the dealer to take it to the distributor for firmware upgrade. It took less than a day. I called my store at 14.00 and the day after at 11.00 pick the camera up. So far it gave me good result
Pinky Mirror Nikonians@Jakarta,Indonesia-- it's near Bali, if you don't know where it is
