Borrowed and played with a D100 this weekend with the though to get one. Personally I loved it, easy to use, good results as far as I could tell. Is there anthing I should know that I can't find out in couple of days use? Are there any drawbacks to the D100 etc. Anything, however small will be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks for reading and replying, what I am looking for is any issues thst may only show up with more indepth usage. Using the camera for a short while may not show things that that emerge with heavier use.
Have had my D-100 since mid-July and taken over 3,000 shots with a variety of lenses and shooting conditions. Even a recent hunting trip in the Nevada outback on horseback and atvs in sub-freezing temperatures...all without a hitch. With reasonable care, I'd say it's prety tough camera and has given me some beautiful results.
I've had problems with the magnified aspect of the D100... how it increases the the lense by 1.5 ... doing groups in tight situations with my Nikkor 24-85 is easy with my F100 but VERY tough with the D100. The flash sync shutter set at 180 is a bit of a pain as well. It's not TTL compatable with my SB-28 flash unit either. Now.... having said all that I would still but this camera in a heartbeat as it's pluses outweigh these minuses...
I already have access to a D1 so the 1.5 factor is not that important. I just use my 18-35 and it seems to be OK. The D1 isn't mine, and I like this digital stuff. By the way silver fans, my favourite shooting combo is still an FM2n with a 105 f2.5 on the front!!
