I got a D100 for Christmas. I found that with the internal flash on Automatic(P) mode that the exposures were all over the place shooting the same scene from the same place with no two exposures the same(usually terribly overexposed) or they were underexposed. In addition the LCD has poor resoloution and often flares out(bright white and grey dots. I returned it. Has anyone had similiar problems.

Nope. There are issue about flash under exp.
I use internal flash (use it in their range) it gives you good result. Using custom curve make it a bit better. LCD is good enough for sneak peak. Event the client is happy to see in LCD only.
Try another one.
it's near Bali, if you don't know where it is

I was just about to ask the same question as I have exactly the same problem with the SB80X external flash. I shot a wedding saturday and many of the photos were overexposed with the flash. I tried to spot meter and manual meter with same results. I am now setting the flash at minus a stop to see if that will help.
