I just bought a Tamron SP AF90 F/2.8 Macro 1:1 “D” compatible lens and I have the D100. I have two immediate concerns and I hope someone hear can help because the people at the camera store are not too knowledgeable.

First, if I pop the flash up in full-auto mode and take a shot the picture is grossly over-exposed; if I put the D100 in manual then I am able to fix it. That doesn’t seem right: it’s almost like the matrix 3D metering doesn’t work with that lens.

Second, the largest F-stop I can achieve is F/3. That too seems like something’s wrong.

Any advice here would be greatly appreciated.
