Wireless slave and receiver recommendations?
Hello, I am looking for a wireless slave and receiver that is compatible with the d200 (ie. pocket wizard) and wont damage any of the electronics. I am wondering if anybody is currently using a slave for their d200 and what might be my best option. I have a metz cl-4 from my film days that I absolutely love and would like to continue using off camera, but need a decent slave to do the trick. Thanks to all in advance.

Every wireless slave and receiver are compitable with D-200 with your old metz cl4 in manual & auto mode.If you like to get the advantage of new Nikon CLS then go for SB-800,SB-600 or SU-800 kit. The beauty of TTL will serve you well.

I have used my Pocket Wizards and White Lightnings with both my D100 and D200 without problems. The Pocket Wizard is compatible with the Sekonic meters which really simplifies setting up lighting ratios.

I fire old brand X flashes and strobes with cheap $10 generic "peanut" slave triggers. Using the D200 built in flash or SB800 in manual mode. If this junk works anything will.
PS: I will not attach to the hot shoe or plug in anything thats not made for Nikon Digital Cameras.

Thanks for all the replies. I was just a little concerned about the electronics with regards to using a slave, but I feel a lot more comfortable. I have a hot shoe attachment for the metz but as mark v pointed out i would never attach a non-nikon directly to the shoe. They have sca modules to modify the output of the flash electronics to become compatible with nikon digital cameras, but if i wanted to do that I would be using my sb-800. The reason i want the slave is to use the metz off camera. I know the sb-800 can do the same, but there is just something about these metz flash guns that makes them so attractive, escpecially in the automatic mode. The exposure is very reliable and thus the reason i held onto it after going digital.
Thanks again to all,
