Well the day finally came and it was with some trepidation this morning that I charged up my battery - set up the D200 - and went in search of hot pixels, bands of all descriptions and soft focus. I am pleased to report - clean as a whistle with not even a dust bunny in sight - I can barely use the beast and have a great deal to learn, but I am truly in love, the feel and quality of the body inspires confidence while to be able to use my much treasured razor sharp 55mm A1 micro lens again (the first thing I tried) is an experience I never expected to relive in this digital world. So, manual in hand I'm off to chase some Bumble Bees

Well here's the Bee, shot at 400 ISO, f11 @ 1/80 hand held with approx. 400% crop - certainly not a keeper but considering the totally unideal conditions and after only 3 hours out of the box - encourages me regarding the camera's potential - now I just need to get my act together.
