D300 Firmware from 1.03 > 1.11
Its been a long time since I've been back to Nikonians, and reading prompted me to upgrade the firmware in my D300. Since this is such a big jump in the versions, will I notice, or do I need to pay attention to anything in particular?
For the first couple of tries of doing the upgrade it would not take. Turns out, I had to remove the MB-D10 grip from the body to get it to go. Once I did that, everything was fine.
I've been away from taking pictures for a long time other than just random snaps, and have been reading tons trying to re-learn my camera.
Thanks for your help and insight guys, its much appreciated.

Welcome back to Nikonians!
Unless you have been having a problem, I doubt you would notice any change in performance.
It is strange that you had to remove your MB-D10 in order to update the firmware. Was your battery fully charged?

Had the same problem with both the D300s and D700 apparently you have to be using the nikon battery in the camera at full charge to upgrade the firmware.
You don't have to physically remove the grip but the camera needs to see the battery in the camera as the main battery and the grip as secondary.
