I've had my D300 for a few years but only just got around to trying making timelapse movies. I seem to have it figured out OK although still having problems focusing on stars at night! My main problem is my camera doesn't take all the shots. Last night for example I'd set it to take what I thought would be 60 shots and it stopped after 20 and later had it set to take 150 and it stopped after taking 38 shots. Wondering if my camera has a problem or am I setting it wrong? Anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance for any answers. cheers, Neale
Assuming you are using the camera settings to do the time lapse, the first thing to check is to make sure that the "interval" is long enough to contain all of the exposures you are trying to fit into it. Check to see that Long Exposure Noise Reduction is turned off?

Thanks Joseph, yes long exp. NR is off. To be more specific, I had the interval set at 10 sec (00:00'10") then on the next input I had 150 x 1 =0150, I've found the explanations in all of my d300 literature are a little confusing! So maybe my settings are not right.
my exposures were the longest i could get, 30 seconds. Obviously I'm not understanding the input windows! What I wanted was a 30 sec exposure , 10 second interval and another 30 sec exposure to happen 150 times. I would like a longer exposure actually but couldn't see that its possible other than manually doing it.
