I currently use a D5100 with a D3000 for backup/alternate use. I find that the D3000 is being used less and less. In cases where I have used it, in the past, I now tend to use my G12. Now may be the time to purchase a camera that would give me more control. I am thinking it may be time to replace the D3000.

The D200 is considerably older than the D3000 but when looking at specifications, it appears to be an adequate replacement. Both are 10MP so I am assuming the D200 image quality would be at least comparable. It would give me the controls I want.

The D300 is newer with higher resolution but would it be worth the added expense to choose it as a replacement.

These are the only two choices that seem to fit my needs.
