Hello folks, Old member, new account. I have been using my D200 again and tried attaching my Plato Phottix WXD-188, but as soon as I turn the camera on it just starts taking photos, and would do so until the entire memory card was full. Even wit no memory card the camera just keep focusing. I thought that it was just low batteries in either component of the Plato Phottix, but when I replaced batteries same result. So, I unplugged the receiver and simply left the 10 pin cable attached and still, the exact same result. This problem may be easily resolved or found, but not one of my searches on google for the past week have turned up anyone having similar issues. Maybe I am just wording things wrong
>Sounds like a short in the cable. I assume it works normally >with the cable disconnected?
Yes sir, no problems at all. But if there is something in that terminal, there is no stopping it. I had thought it could be the cable but do not have another to test. Too bad we don't have electronic stores in my area or I would just go buy a new one.
I bought a cheap GPS cable for my D200 and it did the same. I got a replacement (same cable from the same place) and all has been fine since. I think it is the connectors of some cables that causes it...
Welcome back to Nikonians! Since the camera is being triggered with the 10 pin cord alone attached, it must be shorted out.
