Please take a look at this which I have posted in the English Cafe forum:
https://www.nikonians.org/forums/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=190&topic_id=87299&mesg_id=87299&page=

For those of us who have been waiting for the long overdue successor to the D200/D300, could this be the unveiling of Nikon's real view of the future of DX. That is, great for compacts, good for the amateur, wonderful for the family consumer, but no future any more for pro bodies?

What are your thoughts on this (not on the Coolpix A itself, but on the apparent downgrading of DX)?
