I fixed the problem with the help given- updated the firmware-months ago. Today, I went to the routine-scroll down to shooting menu-find ISO Auto--it is no longer there. Spent hours in the manual-nothing. The cameras say, and act that ISO Auto is on-but I cannot re-adjust the min or max of Iso -or speed-now I have a reverse option, but no ISO-Auto selection. Ron Thanks!
>Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but you have to look under ISO >Sensitivity Settings in the Shooting Menu. Yeas, I probably didn't make it very clear--the sensitivity setting under the shooting menu has disappeared off both cameras. it was find before -I set them both months ago. now that setting under the shoting menu is gone and there is a setting called -reverse- which just flips the the plus minus bar in the viewfinder. I have read the manual msny times flipping from pages 64 to 274-275 as suggest-no answers-so I cannot raise or lower the auto for shutter speed or ISO. Ron
The "Reverse" function should be f10 under the Custom Settings menu, it should not be in the Shooting Menu. Can you access the Custom Settings menu and find f10 "Reverse?" If this same function is showing up in 2 places (and especially since it appears to be replacing "ISO Sensitivity Settings" in the Shooting Menu) there is likely something corrupt in your camera firmware. There is no way that the "Reverse" function should be showing up in two different menu systems.
If this is the case, you could try to reinstall the latest firmware (same procedure as you previously used to update to this version), or you could send the cameras to an authorized Nikon repair facility.
