I discovered recently, that shutter count is available from the image file, without using above mentioned website. If you open the image in Photoshop, from the File Menu, File info, a window with several tabs will appear. Under the 'Advanced' Tab, scroll down to 'schema' - click the > and you will see file info... aux;ImageNumber:26943 Since PS and Bridge and LR are my editing and sorting tools of choice, I am unaware of any other program that will offer the same.
Thanks Bob. Yes, I knew that the message thread was old. But, I was looking for ways to find out shutter count and the 2013 reference was the latest I could find. In the unlikely event someone else might look for the same information, at least they would have input newer than 28 months ago. So, I posted to that old thread knowingly. Tom
I think still some of the free viewer can do that, by irfanview i.e. then open a image in irfanview, after downloading all plugin, click onto info and scroll down to exif data and find picture count. By my D300 is a little bit over 40K, since it was bkup camera for loong time
and if I am not mistaken, still on flickr you can get the full exif data, and get image number (count) from it
