MY D200 is starting to show signs of needing replacement - rubber armour peeling off, occasional odd electrical issues etc. AT the moment I only have one body and with shoots coming up cannot afford to send it off for a service - need to have access to a DSLR

So I am thinking of another body. However, I cannot afford what I really want (D4, D3 or D800) so am looking at the used market - D700, D300 sort of thing. I like the idea of FX so the D700 is a definite possibility. Failing that (if one doesn't present itself) I am looking at the D300 - the problem is that it isn't really a big enough leap from the D200 - should I just get another D200 until I can afford a D800? Or go for the D700... Any ideas?

(Annoyingly I have just done a huge shoot for a local school which would have bought me a D800 if I hadn't done it as a favour to my wife (head teacher) and therefore it was unpaid...
