Isopropyl Alcohol (ASTM 770)

I use 99.9% water free Isopropyl Alcohol to clean my lenses. I always ensure that I use a minimal amount and do not let it run to the plastic.

My question is to why it might not be a good idea to use this solvent to clean my D300s sensor filter?
