The only thing that concerns me about the pictures released from Nikon is this....
If Nikon was confident about their high iso performance on this rig, why wouldnt they have published some iso 1600 shots demonstrating such. Every image i've seen so far is iso 100. I want to see some high iso shots to review the noise.
Does this even slightly concern anyone else?? (mind you, i've already ordered my D200 so...)
Look at the d200 pdf there is one photo in there at iso 800 and even thoug it is small they did give you one it is hard to judge a 10 MP photo like this as nois just seems to dissapear but dont say they did not give you a high iso sample I suspect 1600 will be high iso noise but huge improvment from the D70 and its poor noise at high iso.
Well I qualified what i was looking for by asking for iso 1600. ISO 800 is not quite (especially in that very small picture) enough to evaluate anything with.
I know those pics will eventually be out there. I am just a little concerned that Nikon isnt pushing its chest out by saying, "We've gone to 10.2 MP while improving high iso noise and here are some company pictures at iso 1600 to prove it."
Looks to me they are not that different from the RAW images I get with my D100. We have to wait for reports from independent users and my favorite is dpreview.com. Hopefully, we should know more by December. William Rodriguez Miami, Florida.
