Has anyone much experience using the R1 wireless flash specifically with the D200. I enjoy macro work and am thinking of splurging on this set. Wondering if those who have it feel it is money well spent. How does it compare to other lighting you've used? Has anyone used it as a stand alone lighting for up close face portraits? Obliged for any and all input.
Last week I received my R1C1 and have been taking many macro shots with my 105mm of everything. It works perfect. One of the best camera products I've ever purchased. This and the SB-800 flash makes it an incredible system. I highly recommend it.
Claudio, Dennis, thanks. I am still a bit on the fence, but I very much appreciate your specific input with respect to this unit on a D200. I was thinking of getting the R1 unit as opposed to the R1C1 for use with the D200. Are you using it with other cameras, too, Dennis?
I have not used this place. I just found them by Google. They are 3.0 volt, but do not say anything about actual working voltage.
However, I am now worried about using rechargables after some of the earlier posts in the Speedlights section. (Where this post probably belongs). I hope some of you "early adopters" report back in a month or two and tell us if your flashes have blown up!
I'd be curious to hear how the R1 performs with this battery.
I usually buy batteries from www.thomasdistributing.com as they have the most entertaining order process. (I got free Iraqi most wanted cards with one order and free cheapo precision screwdrivers with another....)
