I bought a refurb D300s from my favorite vendor (KEH)- this was a Nikon refirb with a 90day warranty.

It appeared brand new. I used it for a week with good results.

then it developed a problem:
Images looked good in the preview. Lightroom would reject the files.

Picasa was able to load the files but they looked horrible- fuzzy, flat, unusable.

I did not test to see if it was writing correctly to the SD card.

I've broken a few DSLRs but I'd never heard of anything like htis. Pretty scary. Imagine shooting a wedding thinking everything was in the bag.

I decided to replace it with one of KEH's "like new" and I applied the difference to a one year warranty.
