It's really too bad Nikon doesn't make a less-expensive wireless remote like the Cleon. I'd be willing to pay $100 for a similar Nikon product, but it just doesn't exist, and the Nikon wireless remote (ML-3) does not perform as well as the cheaper knock-offs in terms of distance. $190 for a remote that doesn't work as well is just too much to pay for me.
Thanks for your answer. I had heard about the Mega Cleon, but I just couln't remember the name. You are absolutely right on a number of accounts. The Nikon appears to be over-priced especailly in light of limited range. Secondly, I have done business with HKS before and the services was superior.
Thanks again for the information.

Photo Shoots are like a box of chocolates, you just never know what you might get!
I use Pocket Wizards. You can also get the camera or multiple cameras to fire in sync with the same set of strobes. They are not cheap, but they work first time every time with 100% reliablity. Good Luck and Enjoy your Nikons!
My wife bought me the ML-3 just after I bought my D300 and haven't had any problems with it except being unable to use bulb. Taking a flyer on the Cactus to see if it does the job. Looking forward to finally being able to take some long exposures..
I also bought the Phottix new on Ebay. My first one was intermittent and they replaced it right away. It has been working well. It is only a camera trigger (as far as I know) but the on camera flash is set to Commander for the other flash (SB-800).
I'll hold out with it until I can justify the Pocket Wizards. _________________ Michael D. Miller
