Hi,

I'm starting to play with macro photography and have a question about using the built in flash. How does the camera determine and adjust the intensity of the flash?

I have an old Vivitar Series 1 90mm f2.5 macro lens and have been experimenting with a DIY flash diffuser. It's a white/clear 35mm plastic film can placed over the flash. There is a significant difference in exposure value with the bare flash as opposed to the diffused flash.

Is this because I'm using a non-CPU lens? Is there a way around it?

Thanks,
Cal
