I have a D100. I am ready to buy a AF VR Zoom Nikkor 70-200mm
f/2.8D G-AFS ED-IF for the D100.
Will I be satisfied with this lens on the D100, and see a
improvement in quality? Or should I go for it and get the
D300 and the lens?
I shoot mainly sports (tennis in/outdoors) as well as street
I consider the D100 a great camera and now wish I had kept mine for knocking around after I got the D300. But especially if you are shooting sports I believe the D300 will improve your photos as much, if not more than upgrading your glass.
I just went through the same Delima, upgrade my D80 with a D300 or buy a 70-200 AFS VR. I went for the D300 and have no regrets...it will be a huge upgrade over your D100, especially for shooting sports!
I'll be saving up for the 70-200 or it's replacement next year!
