Now that the long-awaited D-200 is nearly within my grasp...I have a question for some of you more experienced Nikonians (since I have never lived through a new model roll-out before). How long will it be before the guys that do the lab and field tests for the magazines get their hands on it and do their reviews? Also, are there magazines and sources that are more reliable than others?

I'm usually big on waiting for the tests before getting onboard. But Nikon has had consistent winners with the D2X, D70s, and D50. I'm comfortable enough that I've ordered two D200 bodies.
dpreview will probably be out with sample images from a production camera before the D200 is on the shelves.

Thanks to all...appreciate the feedback. Truth be known...I am ready to buy right now. My D-100 went down to Nikon Service Center yesterday and will likely be gone for weeks...so I am in withdrawal here.
