i'm currently using a d200 with the 18-200 vr lens. i'm having problems using the continous servo. it doesn't auto focus in certain situations. i tried unlocking the lens and twisting it back and somehow when i turn it back on, the AF-C is working. however, when i switch it to manual(without pressing the the shutter release) then switching it back to continous servo, the AF-C is not working again. has anyone encountered the same problem? is it the camera or the lens that has problems?

Welcome to Nikonians!
The problem will be a little difficult to diagnose without a bit more information...
When you say "doesn't autofocus", do you mean it does not try to change the lens focus, tries to focus and fails to get a lock, or something else?
Which AF Area Mode are you using?
Release or Focus priority?
In any event, the first thing to try would be to clean the electrical contacts on lens and camera using a clean microfibre cloth. If you could find someone else with a Nikon, trying your lens on their camera and vice versa could help to pin down the fault.
