I just started playing with a di-GPS N2 on my D200, and have noticed from looking at EXIF info on my JPGs that:

1. The 'seconds' field of Lat/Long tags is always zero. This seems to be a convention not unique to the D200, with the 'minutes' represented as a floating point value instead of using the seconds value. Not a big deal ...

2. The 'minutes' field only has 2 decimal places. This means roughly 1/100th of one minute (around 61 ft ?) resolution! Assuming my calculations are right 8-)

In researching this, the first thing I noticed was Thom Hogan's comment in his "Complete Guide to the Nikon D200" that the last digit of the seconds field is in fact truncated (not rounded). I'm not sure if he was referring to exactly the same thing, but close enough.

So this *seems* to be a D200 limitation, not my GPS unit. Any idea if this can be fixed by Nikon in a firmware update (or was already)? I would like my GPS unit itself to be the limiting factor, not the D200.

(FYI, I bought my D200 in Jan 2007 and it has firmware A=2.00, B=1.00)
