I hear the arguments regarding reliability, picture quality, sturdyness, but wha about a less subjective topic....processing speed.
I own a Coolpix 5000 and have been dogged by slow processing speed, which I believe has more to do with the camera than the memory card...but let's not get into that argument.
Has anyone experienced a true and noticible difference between the D100 vs. the D1X ???

One very nice capability of the D100 is that it parallel processes: the camera is available to take another shot immediately, but it's working on processing your last shot 'in the background'. The only time you ever have to wait is if you manage to completely fill the buffer (6 JPEGs or 3 RAW) - at which point you have to wait until one buffered image has been written.
