lens in stock. However, they've only received a very small shipment; had a few Nikonians pre-orders so as of right now (the time of their message, M EST) they have 1 left! Rest assured though that they will have more in the coming weeks..
Mine came in late yesterday (Focus Centre - Ottawa). I am satisfied with the sharpness , but as suggested in the manual update, you neew to be careful with autofocus, there is so much data that the processor really wants some lines to work off. I have the same issue with other ultrawide lenses.
There is no vignetting with my Tiffin polarizer at 12 mm but there is with the Cokin P filters. THis disappears at 14m.
To have good prices and excellent service quality is not seen everyday or easily found. That's why we have chosen ephotocraft to be with us mutual sponsors for the benefit of the Nikonians community. And so, we feel it is important to be seen.
FYI, PhotoCraft told me yesterday that it would be 1 to 2 weeks before they receive another shipment of the 12-24 and the 24-120 VR lenses. The web site still says that both of these lenses "usually ship in 4 to 6 business days".
Unfortunately, because of the limits of our software, we cannot give exact ETA's on a per-item basis. That's why we put "usually" in our availability notes, to compensate for the out-of-norm backorders.
I have been told that these are on backorder nationally. Nikon is seriously behind and it will be well into September before they get caught up. I decided to cancel my order for this one as it will not work on my N80.
then put a big ephotocroft banner up and leave it out of the discussions. it looks so unprofessional having it as the first forum topic all the time. If it is a sponsor then make the one the right way.
Hard to complain fairly when you are getting this wonderful site for free, isn't it?
My preference would be that these posts not be there either, but Nikonians costs money to run. If it doesn't come from the folks who use the site, it has to come from affiliate deals and other endorsements. I hardly think JRP and Bo and the other fine members of the team who run this place are made of money. Do you?
my point is there is a right way to do sponorships and such. if you make ephotocroft a partner do it in an official way. the way it is now, makes it look like a personal plug from JRP. make it look professional is all I am saying. I know sites costs money. I AM a network engineer and help run an art site that has over 2.5 million submissions and growing.
