I have noticed that used D3X bodies are being sold for around $3,200 and sometimes even more. I am curious about the decision to buy a D3X, especially when a D800 can be had for less and a D610 for much less, with both of the newer cameras having superior sensors and processors. Other than collector justification, why would someone pay more for a camera which is not going to take better pictures?

I should add that I'm thinking about buying one myself, and trying to figure out why I wouldn't prefer a D800.
