I'm going to be looking at a used D3X. The owner is not a photographer (I think he inherited the camera) so knows little about its former use, nor how to use it.

I myself have never operated a D3 generation camera (have a D700). How can I tell the shutter actuation count upon inspection?

What other things should I look for during an inspection of this camera?
