My D4 and 200-400mm are back at Nikon Service. I couldn't get the two apart. Just before sending it in, I checked the shutter actuations on the camera. It was just over 365,000. The D4 site says they were rated for 400,000 actuations.

I put a note in with the camera asking the service department if they'd give me a price and opinion on replacing it while it was in the shop. I haven't heard back yet, but thought I'd ask here. It is still working fine, other than the release button for the lens.

NPS sent me a loaner D4 and lens, so I am not in a huge hurry. I had a couple of D300 bodies repaired with new shutters and it seems like the cost was around $225 each.

Thanks in advance,
Mike Jackson
