I've had a few fake San Disk ones (which actually worked OK but were certainly fakes) to trust them unless I get them from B&H or some similar large and trustworthy place.
Hoodman are US made (i.e. the innards come from Silicone Valley as well as the cases) ;I'm in NZ not the US but I know where I'd rather my cards were made! They are probably too small for the knock off merchants to bother with I would say but you can order on line direct from Hoodman so that kind of ensures you get the genuine article.
Hoodman claim a zero failure rate in the field compared to around 5% for San Disk and Lexar I believe.
