Having recently purchased a D4, I've been looking around for a guidebook, all to no avail. I see Dave Busch's compact guides are available in early November and a fuller guide in mid December. But nothing else seems to be around now. Is anyone aware of any guides that are available now, Amazon UK doesn't list any and as great as the Busch guides are, and I have them for my D800e, I wouldn't mind something now to get my teeth into.
I made the same search about a month ago and reached the same conclusion. It appears we'll have to wait for David Busch's book in the October-November timeframe. There is an alternative if you are interested and that's Winston Hall's instructional video mentioned elsewhere in the D4 Forum.
I've had David's book on pre-order since last November, when it was supposed to be out last December. it keeps getting delayed due to no pre-orders, seems the publisher will not let it loose until they get more interest. Bummer!
Thanks for the information. I guess I'll get on the pre-order list in hopes of speeding things along.
As I mentioned earlier, being a dinosaur, I prefer paper to video so I can make notations, etc on the pages. I prefer not to do this on the Nikon manual so that I can keep everything in as new a condition as possible if/when I decide to sell a camera. Unfortunately, Nikon does not seem to provide a means for purchasing a printed copy either and I have no intention of printing out a PDF version. I guess we'll have to hope that the David Busch Guide finally comes out this fall.
Given the great similarities between the D4 and the D800/e, there probably wouldn't be too much new material in a D4 book. The vast majority of it would be more or less the same. Quite honestly, photo book authors tend to replicate a lot of the same material even when the cameras are different.
